About Me

My name is Steve Henderson. I was born in 1944 in East Orange, New Jersey, USA. Since that time I've lived in a number of different places and done a variety of things. Currently I'm a database analyst working in DB2 and IMS on main-frame computers.

I did most of my growing up in Minnesota on the iron range in the towns of Babbitt and Silver Bay. Anyone interested in a small town north of Lake Superior should check my Kelley High School link on my main page.

My family moved to California in 1959, taking me with them. I attended Ravenswood High school in the town of East Palo Alto, graduating from there in 1962.

While attending college at San Francisco State, I was fortunate enough to attend the first event of the Society for Creative Anachronism on May 1, 1966. The SCA is a non-profit organization devoted to the recreation of the Middle Ages as they should have been. I was active in the group for the first twenty years of it's existance and still maintain my membership and some connection with it.

I am a partner in DunDraCon, Inc., a group that puts on a role-playing game convention once per year in the San Francisco bay area on President's Day weekend. DunDraCon is the oldest pure role-playing convention in the world and runs around 1700 attendees. Check us out if you are interested in role-playing or live action role playing games.

I also help put on Gaskells balls. These are semi-formal dances held six times per year with live music.

I have been a gamer for many years. I co-authored the original RuneQuest rules for the Chaosium and helped produce some of the early game aids for that system of gaming. I have also played many board games, AD&D, and most recently Champions, put out by Hero Games.
